From October 30th to November 3rd, the Plitvice Digital Nomad Week 2024 brought together digital nomads from across the globe to experience a unique blend of education, outdoor exploration, and cultural immersion.
Hosted by Camping Plitvice, the second edition of the Plitvice Digital Nomad Week offered a range of activities—from workshops on essential digital nomad topics to immersive local experiences—designed to foster community, share knowledge, and create lasting memories.
Wednesday, October 30: Our arrival at Camping Plitvice marked the start of an amazing week. Attendees checked in to beautiful mobile homes nestled in nature’s tranquility. That evening, we came together for a welcome dinner to introduce ourselves, outline the week’s program, and set the stage for the community atmosphere that defined the event.
Thursday, October 31: The day began with an insightful community-building workshop led by Linda McCall from Nomad Stays. Linda shared strategies for connecting in new locations—a valuable skill for any nomad looking to create meaningful interactions. With the rest of the day free, participants took the opportunity to explore the scenic surroundings of Camping Plitvice, using the e-bikes provided or hiking nearby trails. That evening, Mark Phillips, also from Nomad Stays, hosted an engaging session on visa and tax hacks, helping attendees navigate the practical aspects of the digital nomad lifestyle across various destinations.
Friday, November 1: We started our day with a meditation session led by Rebecca Michelle, whose calming guidance helped attendees refocus and connect with the present moment. Later, we ventured into the local community, visiting OPG Čubrić Brigita to learn about beekeeping and honey inhalation therapy, followed by a cheese tasting at Sirana Turkalj. Our tour continued at Barać Caves, where a guided tour showcased the cave’s stunning dripstone formations and rich geological history, including a rare chance to experience total darkness within the cave. The day concluded with a visit to the Speleon Center, where fossilized remains of Ice Age animals gave attendees a fascinating look into the ancient natural history of the region.
Saturday, November 2: We dedicated our Saturday to exploring the breathtaking Plitvice Lakes National Park. Led by our guide, Bruno, we journeyed through a landscape of vibrant autumn colors, waterfalls, and serene lakes, capping off a week of nature immersion. Back at Camping Plitvice, the group enjoyed a lively farewell party with games and karaoke, where we celebrated our North Macedonian friends, Zoran and Rosica, on their engagement—a magical highlight of the event that left us all touched.
We extend our deepest thanks to Anja Kandrač and the entire staff at Camping Plitvice for their outstanding hospitality, warm welcome, and delicious meals. Special thanks to Linda McCall and Mark Phillips of Nomad Stays, whose workshops enriched the week with practical tools for our digital nomad journeys, and to Rebecca Michelle for her inspiring meditation session. Our sincere gratitude also goes to the Croatia National Tourist Board for their invaluable support in making this event a success.
Stay tuned as we look forward to welcoming even more of you to Plitvice Digital Nomad Week 2025 for another unforgettable experience in one of Croatia’s most beautiful settings!
