The Digital Nomad Association Croatia, in collaboration with the Croatia National Tourist Board, is excited to announce the launch of the Walk & Work project. This initiative aims to showcase Croatia’s stunning national parks as perfect destinations for digital nomads seeking to blend work with the beauty of nature. By taking digital nomads on guided tours through these natural wonders and recording their experiences, the project highlights the unique opportunities for remote work in inspiring environments.
Over the years, the Digital Nomad Association Croatia (DNA Croatia) has partnered with the public and private sectors to position Croatia as a top destination for digital nomads and remote workers. Through conferences, digital nomad weeks, and various events, nomads from around the globe have set their sights on cities like Zagreb, Dubrovnik, Split, Zadar, and Rijeka, as well as regions such as Central Istria and Postira on the island of Brač.
These Croatian destinations are attractive due to their vibrant digital nomad communities, modern coworking spaces, remote work-friendly accommodations, rich gastronomic offerings, local culture and traditions, favorable climate, and street safety.
However, we’ve also noticed a growing interest among digital nomads in Croatia’s natural beauty. With 444 protected areas, including 8 national parks, 2 strict reserves, and 11 natural parks, Croatia rivals other global destinations. Most of these parks are conveniently located near major cities, making them perfect retreats for those looking to escape the urban hustle while still staying connected to work. Events held in Paklenica National Park (2022) and Plitvice Lakes National Park (2023) have highlighted this trend.
Many are unaware that several of these parks not only offer stunning landscapes but also provide infrastructure that supports remote work, such as WiFi and conference rooms. This makes it possible to work amidst nature, finding balance and inspiration without fully disconnecting from professional responsibilities.
This year, in collaboration with the Croatia National Tourist Board, we are excited to launch the Walk & Work project. This initiative will see a digital nomad join us to explore one of the following destinations:
- Mljet National Park/Dubrovnik (April 15-16, 2024)
- Krka National Park (May 11-12, 2024)
- Risnjak National Park/Rijeka (June 5-6, 2024)
- Paklenica National Park/Zadar (September 6-8, 2024)
- Kopački rit Nature Park/Osijek (September 18-19, 2024)
- Plitvice Lakes National Park (September 25-29, 2024)
